I am pleased to see the growth of this group I started a few months ago. It’s good to see that it has been well received by the various deviants who have either joined or added us to their watch lists.

As the founder, a frequent visitor and a moderator, I have noticed that a lot of people wish to join and contribute their work to the gallery and not all of them are well versed in the technical aspects of their respective art disciplines (particularly drawing).

The main point of this group is to showcase the beautiful work of the various skilled paleoartists on DeviantArt. Almost every other group on DA that has a paleo-theme has very lax standards when it comes to submissions. They let almost anything in, a good portion of which are very poorly drawn and also don’t even look like actual animals. Some of the submissions I have seen have nothing to do with paleoart at all.

That was a major factor in starting this group.  And because of that, there are standards for the submissions. I hate to turn anyone down but the moderators and I have a duty to maintain those standards.

Prehistory Alive is meant to be a showcase of best paleoart on DeviantArt. I would like the group to grow and expand but not at the expense of the group’s purpose.

Oh, I also updated the rules.

So do you think something like this [link] or this [link] would be good enough to include in your gallery?
